Vinton County is known for its rugged hillsides, vast forests, and wealth of diverse wildlife. Although once a fast growing center of industry, the land has mostly reverted back to wilderness, leaving Vinton County to claim a reputation as Ohio’s last frontier. Many areas for recreation can be found in the numerous public parks and forests within county boundaries.
