Alice’s House was built in the 1860s and was donated to the Vinton County Historical and Genealogical Society in 2000 by the granddaughter of the house’s namesake. Visitors can tour the house and hear stories about life in the county in years past from the Historical and Genealogical Society’s members, who volunteer to run the house. Dresses, antique furniture, and pictures from ages past can be found in the house. The house is open to visitors on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from noon to 3:00 p.m. Call 740-596-0253 to set up an appointment, or send an email to vchistoricalsociety@outlook.com.
